DIVEMASTER
Though Katherine is no longer a regular member of our staff, she does make what we call "guest appearances" on occasion, so if you'd like to dive with her again, give us a shout and we'll see if we can make it happen! In the meantime, here's a little scoop on Sister K:
Katherine gave up her shop title of Gear Girl in '09 when she achieved her Divemaster rating and was also crowned Night Dive Queen that same year!
When you go diving with Katherine, prepare yourself for lively conversations on night diving and her favorite critters - nudibranches!! Yes, Katherine is a nudi lover!
Aside from her obvious love of all things underwater, you should know that Mary Katherine loves Disneyland, giant burgers, IPA's and dirty jokes. Yes, we really did just say that.
Though you might hear us refer to her as Katherine, Kat, Mary Katherine, Sister Mary Katherine, SMK, or even SMACK, it's all her. Now, there are a couple of other nicknames we use at times, but we'll let her reveal those to you in person!
