Where Could Becoming a PADI Dive Pro Take YOU?
Why would a PADI Course Director spend the money, and her vacation, to return to another PADI Course Director Training Course (CDTC) after she reached the pinnacle of her dive industry career by conquering the same course seven years earlier?
As a PADI Course Director, a major part of my job (and passion) at Maui Dreams Dive Co. is to train Scuba Instructors. The CDTC is the exclusive international PADI training program for Course Directors. As in all aspects of our world, everything changes, including Scuba Instructor training and evaluation techniques.
This opportunity to sharpen my evaluation skills, experience teaching methods changes, and to rub elbows with the “cream of the crop” (both PADI Instructor Training personnel as well as the newest batch of international PADI Course Directors) was irresistible.
After receiving the blessing of the leaders of the PADI Instructor Training Department, I made plans to attend the second of two 2012 International CDTCs, this one being held in the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean.
Now that I am here…I LOVE IT!!!
I see again that I have been fortunate to have chosen the best career on the face of the planet (and under the water)! It is a spectacular joy to be here on a tropical white-beached island, surrounded by an aquamarine ocean, with all of these wonderful people! Whether it is the presenters, the examiners, or the candidates, their passion for teaching scuba diving, and their drive and determination to be the best, and to do the best, warms my heart and soul beyond words. Here I am constantly reminded why I do what I do in my home at Maui Dreams. It is because I love teaching scuba diving and, for a second time in life, I am grateful and humbled by my experience here at the CDTC.
If you're interested in learning about the opportunities available to YOU as a dive professional, please feel free to email me any time at email@example.com and I'll be happy to share my experiences with you and help you plan your path towards a career in the wonderful world of diving!
