Let's face it,
when it comes to diving,
LONGER IS BETTER!
Enriched Air (NITROX) Diver - $50
PLUS THE COST OF ELEARNING ($200 PAYABLE TO PADI DIRECTLY)
Looking to extend your bottom time? Then check out PADI's Enriched Air Diver (EAN) program. To enter the program you must be at least 12 and be a PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent).
Why PADI Enriched Air Diver?
Maximize your bottom time with the PADI Enriched Air Diver course. Having the Enriched Air Diver Certification allows you to:
- Stay underwater longer
- Get back into the water sooner
- Get your certification while simultaneously completing dives for other PADI courses
Plus, by diving with Enriched Air, you may feel less tired on your vacation.
How much more bottom time can I get?
For example, if you dive to 70 feet on air (the depth of one of our popular dive sites, the St. Anthony), your no decompression limit is only 40 minutes. But, diving on EANx32 gets you 60 minutes of no decompression time - an increase of 20 minutes. And if you've got 36% oxygen in your cylinder, that gives you 75 minutes of bottom time! These numbers are from the PADI recreational dive planner and may vary, depending on what kind of dive computer you use.
But wait, does nitrox make me use less air? The answer to that one is no. Your air consumption does not change when you use nitrox, but your limits do. It's up to YOU to add to this with excellent buoyancy skills, streamlining, and a relaxed pace.
Nitrox is perfect for underwater photographers, wreck divers and anyone who wants to stay down longer. If you're doing a lot of diving (liveaboard trip, anyone?), or diving square profiles, using nitrox and make it easier.
This is the entry level certification course for recreational divers wishing to utilize enriched air nitrox (EAN) as a breathing gas. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for using nitrox mixes from 22% to 40% oxygen content.
