Open Water Instructor

Ben got his first snorkel set in 1975, it had a black rubber, oval glass lens mask with a metal frame. Very vintage now. He learned to dive in September of 2002 in a cold water quarry with zero visibility. Even though he couldn't see much, he knew he wanted to dive more.  In January of 2003 he did his first boat dive off the east end of Grand Cayman. He loved it and immediately after climbing the ladder out of the water he signed up for his AOW class! By May of 2003 he completed his Rescue Diver and EFR here on Maui at Kapalua Bay.  Although he loved Maui he had to return to his home with cold water. But that didn't deter him and by August of 2003 he went back to that quarry where he started his diving and became a Dive Master.  He discovered he loved helping instructors and students during that time and desired to do more. He returned to Maui in June of 2020 and is now an Open Water Instructor.  He is living his Maui Dreams and helping others have theirs too. Come in to the shop and say hello to Ben and go on a dive!
